While the Municipality of West Perth has pledged to take a look into their ward boundaries, it will not be coming before the next municipal election in October of 2022.
Council made the motion to look into options for changes or to keep the status quo. Any changes made will take place for the term of 2026.
Since amalgamation in 1998, West Perth has been divided into four wards. Mitchell with three elected councilors and Fullarton, Hibbert and Logan each with two.
Council for the time being will look into their ward system for the new council once they are elected in 2022.
