It’s not often that a baby can travel 23 hundred kilometers before being born. But that’s exactly what happened recently for a young couple as they prepared for the arrival of their bundle of joy.
Christopher Voss and Jenna Jenkins, who are both parmacists, are from Iqualuit but made the long journey to Waterloo Region to be closer to family as their December 27th due date approached.
The couple had planned to welcome their newborn in Cambridge.
But the hospital redirected the couple on New Years Eve to Groves Memorial Community Hospital due to staffing shortages.
The couple welcomed their newborn son, Jack Christopher Voss on January 1st at 3:16 am. He weighed 7 pounds and 13 ounces.
He is the couples first baby. He is also the first baby born in Wellington County in 2022.
