The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority say an adjustment by the province of the amalgamation of conservation authorities is an improvement from a previous plan the government had.
On March 10th, the province announced a revised framework on merging the 36 conservation authorities into 9 regional CAs.
This will see the UTRCA become part of the Western Lake Erie Regional Conservation Authority.
The conservation authority says they remain committed to protecting the watersheds and residents of London, Stratford, St. Marys, Middlesex, Perth, and Oxford region.
This consolidation is expected to be in effect early 2027.
