Three Charged in Over $100,000 Lumber Fraud in Erin

Accused are owners and an Associate of a Business in Thornhill. Police recovered $80,000 of lumber.

The Wellington County OPP have announced that three people have been charged in connection with an over $100,000 lumber fraud in Erin.

Officers were called to a business in Erin on August 27, 2021. The victims had sold over $100,000 in lumberĀ  and a week later were advised that the transactions had been made using fraudulent credit card information.

As a result of the investigation, the owners and an associate of a business in Thornhill have charged charged and $80,000 worth of lumber recovered.

A 40 year old male of Richmond Hill, a 39 year old male of Vaughan and a 40 year old of North York have been charged with possession of property obtained by crime, trafficking in stolen goods, laundering proceeds of crime and fraud. All charges are for cases over $5,000.

All three accused are scheduled to appear atĀ  a Guelph Court to answer to the charges.
