Stratford Festival is mourning the loss of actor, director and artistic director Marti Maraden who passed away while visiting family in Sweden who had fallen ill.
Marti joined Stratford Festival in 1974 as an actor who in 2006 was appointed co-Artistic Director and throughout her career stared in multiple plays.
Artistic Director Antoni Cimolino says Marti was among the first women in Canada to work regularly as a director with her contributions to be remembered with great appreciation.
Maraden was 78 years old.
