Applications will open on Wednesday for the Perth County autumn Stewardship Program.
This grant is aimed for landowners and community groups to enhance the natural environment through projects focused on planting windbreaks, block plantings, forest restoration, forest health assessments and community tree events.
Hannah Cann, Resilience and Stewardship Coordinator for Perth County says this program is a wonderful opportunity for residents and groups to actively contribute to the health of the environment.
Since the program began in 2024, 18,000 trees have been planted resulting in 27.6 kilometers of new windbreak and 26.8 acres of reforestation or rehabilitation of forested lands.
