Provincial Government Remains Firm Against Mandated Vaccines, Vaccine Passport

Many groups and organizations want mandated vaccines for health care workers

Health Minister Christine Elliot says the provincial government continues to stand firmly against the idea of mandating vaccines for health care workers as well as vaccine passports.

A vaccine passport would act as a verification system to allow those to enter bars, restaurants or gyms as is seen or will be in certain areas such as Quebec.

Despite the government standing, the Ontario Long-Term Care Association, Ontario Medical Association, Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario and Ontario Pharmacists Association are together in calling mandatory vaccines for health care workers.

Ontario Chamber of Commerce President Rocco Rossi is calling on Premier Ford to act. Rossi saying the last things he wants to see is another shutdown and believes it’s bound to happen if every tool is not used, supporting the idea of a vaccine passport.
