The monthly occupancy fee will be increasing next year at Perth Meadows.
Residents of Perth Meadows Suites and town homes pay a monthly fee for service which includes maintenance expenses, heat, hydro and operations.
In 2021, the fees were increased by around 2% but as Manager of Facilities, Jeff Newel says some recent financial situations have caused some issues with the operational budget.
“The concerns expressed by staff and the board was the current financial climate has seen increase in inflation, maintenance costs and services.” said Newell
Newell says this is much more than just a Perth Meadows issue and faces all communities and sectors.
Council approved the 5% occupancy fee increase for Perth Meadows to take effect starting January 2023.
Deputy Mayor Doug Kellum was off the vote citing a conflict of interest.
