The outbreak at Caressant Care here in Listowel is a precarious situation. There are many unknowns in terms of case tracking, contacts and infections. The one thing though that is constant is the community’s care for those that live and work there. One such caring organization is Country Style Restaurant. Owner Cindy Stevens says when she heard of the situation she knew she had to help those recovering from the outbreak.
“So I thought maybe the best thing for us to do is find out who these people are [who are recovering] and reach out to them and deliver meals to their family. There is nothing worse than being sick and not being able to make a meal for your family.”
The generosity extended beyond their restaurant staff. Their usual delivery driver decided to volunteer his time as well and delivers meals to those recovering from the outbreak for free as well.
