OPP looking for applicants to Auxiliary Constable Program

Auxiliary program helps develop a better understanding of police and experience for future career opportunities with OPP

The Perth County OPP Auxiliary Unit is currently seeking dedicated volunteers to apply for the position of OPP Auxiliary Constable.

Auxiliary members assist in the delivery of traffic safety and community-based crime prevention initiatives.

Some of their duties may consist of:

  • Community Policing
  • Crime Prevention Initiatives
  • Community Events
  • Patrol
  • OPP Special Events
  • Public Service

Auxiliary Members must be able to commit to 10 hours of patrol per month, plus an additional 6 hours of trianing.

Candidates must be a minimum of:

  • 18 years of age
  • a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada
  • possess a G driver’s license with no more than 6 demerit points
  • must have a Secondary School Diploma or equivalent,
  • certified in Standard First Aid and CPR
  • must not have a criminal record for which a pardon has not been received or an absolute/conditional discharge that has not been sealed

Candidates must also be mentally and physically able to perform the duties of an Auxiliary member.

All successful applicants also must successfully complete a 7 day Auxiliary Recruit Training Course.
