Ontario is extending a temporary sick leave program for workers up the end of this year.
Labour Minister Monte McNaughton made the announcement the pandemic program which was set to expire this month has been extended to December 31st.
McNaughton says the spreading Delta variant is the main cause for the move to allow more time for those to get vaccinated and support workers.
The Ontario government introduced three days of paid sick leave back in April to allow those to get vaccinated or take days off if sick with the virus reimbursing employers up to $200 a day for what they pay out.
