The North Perth Public Library next month will be welcoming seven women across different career backgrounds and share their journeys.
Taking place October 15th at Parkview Gardens, the evening will celebrate what the library calls trailblazing women in a night of storytelling with farmers, construction workers, police officers and engineers sharing their stories.
Jennifer Courtney, Library Assistant with the North Perth Public Library says she hopes this event will allow those like her daughter who is studying engineering as the only woman in her program to continue to be inspired on the career path she is following.
“I’m hoping for her age bracket we’re going to be able to give them some encouragement of knowing you are on the right path, you are meant to be here you deserve a seat at the table and these women who have come before you have laid a great foundation and its for these younger people to sort of slingshot off of that and really put their stamp on whatever industry they are choosing to go into.” said Courtney.
The event is free to attend but those interested are asked to register so the library is able to confirm numbers.
