There’s a new proposal in Mapleton to have street names to honour veterans.
This come up during a council meeting by Mayor Gregg Davidson for a new program for naming streets to honour veterans which connections to the township.
To ensure the public is aware of these street names and their importance, they would be marked with a poppy symbol.
There was support from council with some questions raised around if there are already streets in Mapleton honouring veterans that can be part of this program.
Mayor Davidson says the township is working with the local legion to select names and come back to council.
