The province is investing $210 million through the Road Safety Initiatives Fund to support increased road safety in school zones and community safety zones without the use of speed cameras.

Today marks the end of speed cameras across the province, including snapping a pilot project of cameras in Wellington County in community safety zones.

With this fund from the province, instead projects such as traffic calming infrastructure like speed bumps, raised crosswalks and roundabouts and high visibility signage are being encouraged where municipal speed cameras were previously used.
