Lucknow native named to Canada’s 2021 Tokyo Team

Julie-Anne Staehli has been named to Team Canada for the Upcoming Summer Olympics

Lucknow native and Long Distance Running Coach and Runner Julie-Anne Staehli has been named to the team of athletes representing Canada at the upcoming 2021 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

Staehli spent her 5 year running career in University with the Queen’s Gaels that saw her win 12 podium finishes at OUA and U Sports Champions, earning 3 gold medals and becoming the first student athlete in Queen’s history to be a 5-Time All-Canadian.

She qualified for Tokyo by finishing 5000m in under 15 (14:57.50) minutes in Portland, Oregon. She joins other local area sports competitor, Listowel golfer Corey Conners, in heading to Tokyo.

She is the third fastest woman in Canada at that distance and 17th place in overall world ranking.
