Lake Victoria Levels Remain Low

Lake Victoria in Stratford continues to remain at low levels following the debris removal and closure of the sluice gate at the R Thomas Orr Dam on July 31st.

A storm earlier this week brought in heavy rainfall which gave a boost to the water levels but the city says the lake is still below summer operating levels.

City staff continue to work closely with the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority to manage the situation.

Stratford’s Environmental Services and Public Works team have been tackling debris near storm outfalls with park staff working alongside volunteers to clean garbage and waste from the lake’s edge.
