Huron County Starting to Eliminate Single Use Plastic

Huron County hoping to eliminate most single use plastic ASAP

While the feds are hoping to get rid of single use plastic by the end of next year, Huron County isn’t waiting and starting right away.

Huron County will start eliminating single use plastic and adopting more environmentally friendly options. Plastic like straws, cutlery, beverage cups and plastic bags are on the list of items to be removed in favour of a better counterpart.

Residents are asked to do their part by starting to use reusable shopping bags, water bottles.

Businesses are asked to start going back to paper bags and offices to use a coffee maker instead of Keurig cups but if a Keurig is already in place to go with refillable or compost able K-Cups
