While Huron-Perth Public Health remains slightly ahead in the province for COVID-19 vaccines administered, an outlining issue is rising in vaccine sites.
Over the past few weeks the only clinics have been in Stratford and Goderich which has put some strain on more northern areas of Huron-Perth. When asked about expanding to other communities, Dr. Paul Gill says, while they would like to, vaccine supply is the current hold back.
“If you can imagine, one primary care office getting 30 doses and 3000 phone calls to manage those 30 doses. It becomes incredibly challenging.” said Dr. Gill
Bookings for vaccination clinics in Huron-Perth are closed for the time being in response to information from the province on vaccine supply.
