With the region under a heat warning, Huron-Perth Public Health is telling residents to take extra safety measures to prevent heat related illnesses.

Humid conditions for today and Wednesday can see afternoon high’s between 30-34 degrees.

Those most at risk include older adults, infants and young children, those with chronic illnesses and people who work outside.

Public health says to drink plenty of cool liquids, wear light coloured clothing, avoid sun exposure and prepare meals which don’t need to be cooked in your oven.

A cold front is expected to bring an end to the heat wave on Thursday.
