The Town of Minto’s Cultural Roundtable is launching a new community driven initiative all about sparking creativity, connection and cultural experiences in the community.

Building on the 2024 Cultural Plan, the new TRY-IT Arts and Culture Programming initiative encourages residents, artists, community groups and organizations to bring forward ideas for hands on arts, culture and heritage experiences.

The program is designed to make it easier for community members to test out new creative ideas, workshops, events or cultural experiences with support from the town.

The first two TRY-IT programs are already underway:
• On June 6, the Harriston & District Horticultural Society will host a free DIY Fairy Garden Workshop at the Harriston Arena Pavilion.

• On July 11, Illustrated Movement in Palmerston will offer a dance workshop for free designed to encourage creativity, movement, and artistic expression.

Belinda Wick-Graham, Director of Economic & Community Development says the Cultural Plan highlighted a strong desire for more opportunities that allow residents to connect through creativity, culture and shared experiences.
