A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at the Palmerston and District Hospital after an inpatient and two staff members have tested positive.
In a release, the Wellington Health Alliance says they are working closely with Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health to respond to the outbreak including to have staff and patients tested.
The variant of COVID-19 is not known at this time. In response, obstetrical services will be redirected.
Diagnostic imaging, ambulatory care and day surgery services will remain open.
This marks the 2nd COVID-19 outbreak declared at a hospital in Wellington County.
