With so much snow on the ground, it’s peak season for fun in the snow and building snow forts but safety continues to be urged in Centre Wellington.
The Township says while snow forts can be fun, using roadside snowbanks to construct forts is not a safe place to start construction.
Snow plow operators work with limited visibility and might not see children hiding inside or behind large snowbanks.
The township is urging parents to make sure their kids are staying clear of roadside snow piles and play in safer areas.
