Blue-green algae has been discovered around Guelph Lake.
The presence of suspected the algae bloom has been observed at the northeast shoreline, near the dam and the Guelph Lake Conservation Area reservoir.
This coninues on recent notices seen near the dam and islands in the Shade’s Mills Conservation Area reservoir and the boat launch of the Belwood Lake Conservation area reservoir.
The public is reminded to keep children and pets away from the algae, avoid touching it, do not swim in areas where you see scum and not eat fish from the lake.
