Bayfield Resident Facing Impaired Driving Charge

Accused to appear in Goderich court

A Bayfield resident is facing impaired driving charges after they caught speeding this past weekend.

Huron County OPP on May 21st at 9:13pm received a call from a motorist who was possibly driving while impaired.

Officers later found the suspect travelling westbound on Bayfield Road driving beyond the posted 90km/hour speed limit.

A traffic stop was initiated and officers noted the driver had consumed alcohol.

Following a failed roadside test, police also found open alcohol inside the vehicle.

As a result a 53 year old from Bayfield has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus.

The accused will appear in Goderich court next month.
