Stratford resident and WWII veteran Art Boon has passed away at the age of 98.
Boon was among the Canadian troops who stormed Juno Beach during the D-Day invasion on June 6th, 1944 and helped liberate the Netherlands over the course of his campaign with the Canadians during the war.
Following the war, Boon still continued to serve in the military and was always in attendance for Remembrance Day Ceremonies.
Boon also made multiple visits to local classrooms to share Canada’s contributions to the war effort.
