The Listowel Wingham Hospital Alliance is set to see its Wingham Emergency Department closed intermittently over the weekend due to staff shortages at the facility.
The hours due the closures are:
- ER closes Friday, June 9th at 5pm, reopens at 7am Saturday
- recloses Sat, June 10th at 5pm & reopens Sunday at 7am
- recloses Sun, June 11th at 5pm & reopens Mon at 7 am
Patients in the area with a medical emergency are asked to call 911.
EMS will remain available during the closures and will re-route them to surrounding hospitals that have an open ER.
The Wingham ER has faced identical closures in recent weeks due to similar human resource staffing issues.
