Wildfire smoke has made its way to Perth County.
On Thursday, Environment and Climate Change Canada issued a Special Air Quality Statement for Listowel, Milverton, Stratford, Mitchell and South and Northern Perth County.
As smoke levels increase so does health risks as those most at risk include those aged 65 years and older, pregnant women, infants and young children as well as those with existing illness or chronic health condition.
Huron-Perth Public Health says the public should monitoring for respiratory problems such as coughing, throat irritation, dizziness, take a break and drink plenty of water.
Air quality is expected to improve over the course of the day.
