St. Mary’s is starting off strong in celebrating Canada’s 155th Birthday this year.
There is so much happening this weekend beginning with live music in Cadzow Park, St. Mary’s from 11am-2pm.
Following the live music there is to be a Flag Raising Ceremony as well as a Land Thanking Ceremony.
A fundraiser BBQ is also running for the Canadian Baseball Hall Of Fame.
There will be kids activities, an artisan market also.
Following this event St. Mary’s prepares for the Home and Heritage Festival. Andrea from the Township of St. Mary’s claims “it is going to be a party”.
Starting off with the parade at 5:30pm, people around the St. Mary’s area are to be aware there will be detours due to this.
The Home and Heritage Festival will also be featuring kids activities such as a bouncy castle, and food trucks. This event is also a great way to take advantage of local shopping.
Bus tours are going to be running throughout the day as well.
Following the parade the action is just getting started over at the Milt Dunnell Field, there is going to be a dance in the park.
Live bands will be performing at the dance in the park, along with food trucks.
Saturday at St. Mary’s High School there is going to be a reunion happening for anyone who has gone to DCBI in the past.
Saturday night Darcy John will be playing live at the Pyramid Rec Center, you are able to purchase your tickets online or at the doors.
10pm is when the fireworks will begin, they are going to be fired off the trestles and reach incredible heights as per usual.
St. Mary’s has a full agenda this Canada Day and encourages you to come and celebrate.
