OPP across the West Region are now all equipped with Automatic License Plate Recognition and In Car Camera systems in patrol vehicles.
Detachments in Huron and Wellington County joined Perth County OPP with the upgrades which will be used to gather enhanced evidence to be used in the prosecution of offences.
The new tech will also make it easier for police to enhance the ability to detect plates linked with criminal or traffic offences.
These include wanted or missing people, stolen vehicles, suspended or prohibited drivers as well as vehicles associated with Amber Alerts.
