West Perth Resident is out $28,000 due to Fraudulent Payment

Incident happened between Oct. 24th and 27th when victim sold a trailer to a company out of Markham. Payment was sent and tow company picked up the trailer. Victim then notified payment was fraudulent.

The Perth County OPP is undertaking a fraud investigation after a West Perth resident lost $28,000.

The incident happened between October 24^th and 27^th when the victim sold a trailer to a company out of Markham.

Payment was sent and the tow company picked up the trailer.

The victim was notified on October 27^th that the money transferred for the trailer was fraudulently sent.

The victim is out $28,000.

The investigation is ongoing.
