A taste of all local Wellington farm goods is being recognized internationally.

The International Economic Development Council, the largest non profit association for professional economic developers has selected Wellington County as a recipient for a 2022 Excellence Award.

The award honours organizations for their economic development marketing campaigns projects and programs.

Wellington County is being honoured as part of its Taste Real Farmers Market Box series.

The box delivers a selection of various local farmers market products to residents every summer and fall right to their door.

Christina Mann, Economic Development Officer for Wellington County says the local support from the box has been very successful since its launch.

“Getting a box delivered to their home and they knew they were supporting local small businesses and farms. It was both a convenient way to shop local and a really nice way to get a taste of each market delivered to your home.” said Mann.

Minto Mayor George Bridge and Chair of Wellington County’s Economic Development Committee says the initiative shows great pride the exceptional local food available.

While the box series has wrapped up for this year, a holiday goods box will soon be available for residents to purchase.

Information on the coming holiday box will be released soon and can be found from TasteReal.ca
