Wellington OPP locate Commercial Vehicle Full of Illegal Cannabis Plants during Operation Safe Driver Week

Driver is now facing two charges under the Cannabis Act. was found to have approximately 300 illegal plants in the vehicle.

The Wellington County OPP reported today that a commercial driver is facing multiple charges after a vehicle they were driving was found to contain hundreds of illegal cannabis plants.

Yesterday Wellington County OPP was conducting CMV safety inspections in Arthur, as part of the Operation Safe Driver Week initiative. The subject vehicle entered the inspection area and during the course of the inspection the plants were located.

As a result a 58 year old male of Stouffville has been charged with possession of more than 4 cannabis plants, distribution of the plants as well as a charge for driving a commercial vehicle with no CVOR certificate.

The accused is scheduled to appear at a Guelph court at a later date to answer to the charges.
