Wellington County OPP have punched their numbers over the long weekend as part of their safety campaign.
Between June 24th-July 2nd OPP were out taking part in the Canada Day week traffic campaign with a focus on aggressive driving, distracted driving, impaired operation as well as making sure seatbelts, helmets and life jackets were used.
Wellington County laid a total of 166 charges including:
· 75 Speeding
· 6 Stunt driving
· 5 Impaired driving
· 15 Seatbelt
· 1 Cellphone
· 1 Canada Shipping Act violation
· 62 other traffic related charges.
147 warnings were also issued over the campaign.
