Wellington North has requested more information on an application for a zoning change that would potentially bring a marijuana production facility to Arthur.
Council there held a public meeting yesterday regarding the proposal by CCR Holdings to rezone a just over 5 acre property located at 10 Wells Street West. The change would allow an indoor cannabis cultivation and processing facility on the site in Arthur.
The just over 17 thousand square foot industrial building would need to be retrofitted to be suitable for the use.
The application was revealed to be a marijuana business on March 16th after it was initially filed as a commercial industrial operation.
The personal marijuana license would allow the cultivation of up to 438 plants on site. Only the licensed individual would be allowed to take care of them.
Health Canada regulations allow up to 4 licensed to be located at 1 address.
