Wellington North council spent time this week looking over the Grants and Donations Community Development Program.
The township highlighted a list of volunteer and not for profit organizations who play a role in the municipality who they support with an advance of $36,665.49 in grants and fee waivers being issued for 2025.
These groups include 100 Women Who Care Rural Wellington, the Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation Gala and Mount Forest Lions Club. Councilor Sherry Burke says its amazing to see so many groups who add to the community.
“It’s a really great report to highlight a lot of the volunteer organizations that contribute to our community.” Burke.
Similar comments were echoed by Steve McCabe and Mayor Andy Lennox who recognized the important role the groups play within the township.
