Wellington North Approves Ontario Trillium Foundation Application

Wellington North council is giving the green light to submit an application to the Ontario Trillium Foundation to help repair some playgrounds.

An application for the full $200,000 grant would be used to fix up the Conn Community Park which mainly looks to surface, reduce flooding and have a play structure aimed for kids aged 5-12 years old.

The Lion Merv Weber playground is also looking to address flooding issues and add two play structures for the same age group and one for 0-5 year olds.

Manager of Community & Economic Development Mandy Jones says this will be part of the 2025 budget to allow for time to discuss should they not be successful in their application.

“The reason we chose that timeline was to be able to allow council to discuss so if we are not successful or only just partially successful then we’ll be able to discuss that at budget time” said Jones.

Wellington North is expected to hear about their application from OTF in August.
