Wellington County advised that the Municipality took part in a recent round table discussion to end homelessness and work towards additional transitional & affordable housing options.
The event was held with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the Minister of Housing, Diversity and Inclusion Ahmed Hussen.
The County’s Social Services Administrator Luisa Artuso took part and says that they had a very productive discussion.
She says they shared challenges that are facing the City of Guelph and the County of Wellington and some of the successful strategies they have been able to implement.
Following the discussion, the Prime Minister announced the Federal Government would be investing $2 billion dollars to address homelessness and affordable housing challenges across the Country.
