Wellington County OPP investigating Four Pickups Stolen in 1 Hour Span in Fergus

Police remind everyone that if your vehicle has a proximity key then you need to take extra steps to protect your vehicle such as parking it in a garage, storing the key in a protective pouch and away from exterior of home as possible.

The Wellington County OPP is investigating the theft of four pickup trucks from residences in Fergus.

The four separate incidents happened on August 28th between 4 and 5 am. The vehicles stolen were all Dodge Ram 1500 pickup trucks. A person of interest was seen in the area and is described as thin build wearing all black with a reddish hat/toquie.

The stolen vehicles and license plates were:

  • 2022 Dodge Ram 1500 Grey Sport with license plate BN88315
  • 2022 Dodge Ram 1500 Silver Big Horn with license plate BL82705
  • 2022 Dodge Ram 1500 Silver Sport with license plate BB83541
  • 2021 Dodge Ram 1500 Black Sport with license plate AN96683

The vehicles were all locked and keys all accounted for.

Police would like to remind everyone that if your vehicle has a proximity key then you need to take extra steps to protect your vehicle such as parking it in a garage, storing the key in a protective pouch or as far away from the exterior of your residence as possible.

Anyone with information on these incidents is asked to call the OPP or anonymously to Crime Stoppers.
