Wellington County is advising residents who may be doing spring cleaning in their closets that in-stead of throwing the unwanted clothes out they should drop them off at a Wellington Waste facility.

They have partnered with the Canadian Diabetes Association Clothesline program to put textile recycling boxes at every County waste facility.

There is no charge to drop off your old textiles.

Acceptable items include

  • clothing
  • fabric, yarn
  • shoes, boots
  • belts, bags, purses, hats, ties
  • bed linen, blankets, pillows
  • drapes
  • sleeping bags
  • stuffed animals

Money raised from their sale are used to promote the health of Canadians affected by diabetes.
