According to a report in Wellington County’s strategic plan shows long term care waitlists are getting longer and there isn’t much sign of improvement down the road.
The report says the growing need is not expected to slow down in the coming years with more support needed to address the issue.
According the province’s long term care performance portal, there are 623 people on the waitlist to get a spot at Wellington Terrace in Centre Wellington, roughly translating to a wait time of 513 days with Wellington Terrace having 176 beds.
The lowest wait time is at Caressant Care in Harriston with a wait time of 167 days.
