Off roaders will need to wait until September to get a better picture of where Wellington County will be going with their decision on whether off-road vehicles such as ATV’s will be permitted on county roads.
County council met May 11th and discussed the possibility of allowing off-road vehicles on county owned roads after a request from Minto council to allow the use of off-road vehicles on county roads in the town.
Minto passed a bylaw last month allowing off road vehicles on their roads which was followed by other towns in the County such as Erin and Centre Wellington.
While most councilors are in favour of allowing off road vehicles on county roads, the biggest concern continues to be maintaining the rules and ensure every rider will follow them and avoid bad behaviors from safety to where they ride.
