Wellington County Council, at today’s Council meeting, announced through Warden Kelly Linton, plans to support a rural residential hospice on the Wellington Place campus in Aboyne.

The six bed facility would provide palliative care to Wellington County residents and families and be built on a two-acre parcel of land near Wellington Terrace and the Groves Memorial Community Hospital.

Warden Linton says the facility would provide essential end-of-life care in a comfortable home-like space. He added that it is important that residents have the opportunity to be close to their loved ones and receive the respect, dignity and care they deserve.
