WDG Recommended to be Moved to Red “Control” Zone

Currently 195 active cases of COVID-19 in WDG

Rising cases in Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph has made Guelph Medical Officer of Health and CEO Dr. Nicola Mercer make the recommendation that the region be moved into the “red” control zone on the COVID-19 chart.

Dr. Mercer says moving to red will place significant pressure on every resident and business in the region but the current situation requires considering using the tools available to halt the virus.

The cabinet will meet and decide by tomorrow if Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph will be moved into the “red” zone, the move would take place on Monday.

The region currently has 195 active cases, 24 from Wellington County.
