The program of Shop Local got a huge boost in the arm recently by Listowel Technology Inc.
The local firm purchased $62,000 of the local Shop Local Dollars.
The company will be distributing the vouchers to their 400 plus associates as a holiday gift from the company.
The Shop Local Dollars program has been around since 2008 and is currently accepted at over 70 Listowel area businesses.
12 years later this year is like no other. The need of supporting local businesses is at an all time high due to the Covid 19 pandemic.
North Perth Chamber of Commerce GM Sharon D’Arcey says this year the total operations of the program has seen sales of over $110,000 of Shop Local Dollars.
This exceeds last years sales of $60,000 with 10 days to still go in the program.
