Family members spoke their mind in a Guelph courtroom on Tuesday speaking to how the death of Lucas Shortreed broke their family.
The messages were spoken directly to the accused, David and Anastasia Halliburton before they were sentenced to the hit and run death of Shortreed in 2008.
David was killed on October 10th 2008 who was walking home from a party when he was struck by a vehicle on Wellington Road 17.
The Halliburtons were arrested in September 2022 with David pleading guilty on Tuesday to failing to remain at the scene of an accident causing bodily harm or death and obstruction of justice.
Anastasia pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice and careless storage of a firearm.
