Perth County OPP is advising residents of a cryptocurrency fraud that has cost a North Perth resident $7,000.

Officers were called to a Wellington Avenue South address on Friday, August 26th where a victim revealed that he met an individual online promoting investing through Crypto currency.

The victim invested $7,000 with the fraudulent investor.

The fraud is a multi-billion dollar per year business where modern, tech savvy fraudsters do their best to create confusion & chaos during interactions leading victims to react impulsively to hand over money.
