While speaking over Facebook live, Medical Officer of Health for Huron-Perth Dr. Miriam Klassen touched a range of subjects.
The biggest focus was on getting youth 12-17 in the region vaccinated.
While many seniors have received a dose and many adults getting a vaccine, the youth are next in line as the province looks towards reopening. Dr. Klassen says getting youth vaccinated is what will get them back in school safely
“Part of the safe return to in person learning, is getting vaccinated against COVID-19. To date in Huron-Perth we have 1341 youth between the ages of 12-17 who have already received their first dose.” said Dr. Klassen.
Dr. Klassen adding around 4016 youth are currently waiting to receive their first dose.
