The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority is reminding residents across the watershed of the Invasive Species Collaborative Program Opportunity.
The UTRCA is developing a funding initiative to address three invasive plants including Giant Hogweed, Japanese Knotweed and Phragmites.
These invasive plants cause significant ecological and public health risks with Giant Hogweed among those when its sap is exposed to sunlight which can cause severe skin irritation, burns and long lasting scars.
All control work will be carried out by trained UTRCA staff or qualified contractors in accordance with strict safety and environmental guidelines.
