The Upper Maitland Mustangs Girls Hockey has kept busy with various tournaments and traveling across the area.

While the seasons are winding down, its still a good time to introduce as many as possible to skating and the game of hockey and get some support rallying for another season down the line with a free skate event coming to the Steve Kerr for girls.

This event has been put on annually for many years as Kevin Reesor says all skills level can head down and just enjoy the hour.

“If they’ve played mixed hockey before or never played we welcome all abilities and skill levels. We just like to have an easy skate, come out and try it no pressure and come have a fun hour skate with us” said Reesor

Reesor says this event is great to introduce girls into sports.

“Just trying to get the word out about girls hockey and really raise the profile of the importance of girl in sport.”

Full equipment is required to be worn on April 23rd.

The first skate is open for U8 and U9 from 12:30-1:30pm with U11 and U13 from 1:30-2:30pm.
