University of Guelph Researching Pandemic Impact on Vulnerable Groups

The University of Guelph has received funding from the federal government for a pair of research projects to uncover how the pandemic has impacted some of the country’s most vulnerable population.

The funding approved for the project will dig deep into see how the pandemic has affected women in Canada experiencing family and intimate partner violence and how certain services in Canada helped women and those experiencing housing instability.

Funding has also been given to study the long term impact the pandemic has had on the physical and mental health of children in Canada.

The projects are in part to help the government, health care providers and inform Canadians to continue to manage through the pandemic.
